COLLECTIVE CALL TO ACTION

A thought, or a few

As a fully independent creative functioning in a stream based society, with little to no imprint on social media and a half baked computer, I want to find a way to pull all seats to the table for artist who want to throw in and pull out stacks together.
Artist I still want to collab and create with at this date, but can't because finances, time, and means make shit hella difficult to organize without feeling overwhelmed. All without spamming and being over zealous.

HOW DO?! I WANT EVERYONE I LOVE TO START CLIMBING SO WE CAN TAKE OLD INDUSTRY WOOKS OUT AND USE THE SHEER ENERGY TO REBUILD IT. FROM SCRATCH. New fashion, new models, new actors, new music videos, new artist, new budget and time approach, and new money. I know we have to operate within it to be noticed, only to give us a "chance".

BUT I'm tired of hearing horror stories about the creative industry when there is a whole generation bending ass over knee to be inclusive, aware, educated, and artist in name.

WHY DO WE NOT TEAR DOWN THE GLASS CEILING OURSELVES?

HOW?

Thanks for asking.

4 concepts that can be expanded upon: Internal funding, resource pooling, split-pay, organic audience generation.

Most of these you are introduced to by accident, have sought it out, or already have been here, but moral of the story is this will work as long as the aesthetic approach in the beginning hits home for a base of the millennial and zoomer market.

Concept 1- Internal funding: Sourcing funding from supporters is easier than ever before with campaign sites like GoFundMe and Patreon, this will be used as start-up funding, but independent funding from our work, .i.e. speading your portfolio across multiple streaming platforms all set up to one shared (host) account, which will then be linked to an even larger portfolio that is the "Collective" account, which plays into...

Concept 2Resource pooling: EVERYONE WHO DECIDES TO SIT AT THE TABLE ALSO CAN REMAIN AN INDEPENDENT ARTIST, and maintain full autonomy. That said, product will be easier to create if we share our resources be it for producing, recording, video work, graphic design. The more of us that can contirbute (eventually in one centralized location we can cycle in and out of) the better chance we have to create solid content. We will also have to put our money where our mouth is and chip in any way we can at the beginning and going forward.

Concept 3Split Pay: When projects are taken on and put out to the market and start generating passive income. Every person who worked on the project are paid in percentages that reflect their work and effort, royalties in lingo words. (Reference split pay options that are set up on music streaming services). For services that aren't naturally split paid, that would be manually done, which then would be processed by consulting and keeping everyone in the loop on collective finances and income. No one gets fucked and we fuck shit up. Complete transparency. If someone has a problem with their percentages of royalties we will discuss it without animosity and apprehension.

Concept 4- Audience Generation: We won't be paying for followers or influences to add fluff to our game. We do it ourselves. Reach out to your friends for support and push Collective work out together to grow a audience not only locally, but as it expands, nationally. We would also be able to pay for AD space since most platforms have integrated means for doing so, and for marginally cheaper than trying to get a TV or radio spot. If we celebrate each other's accomplishments together. this should happen organically. We will also be trying to influence how people approach and represent independent artist's growth.

All of these concepts can and will be discussed in broader detail once we can get a solid meeting organized and going.

WHY?

Asking the right questions.

Because for too long artist get spit out of the industry before they flourish or have lasting impact. Some who are killing the game give up cause they get discouraged at just being an independent artist. The financial side of things also dictates that we have this wild ass portfolio before we're even given a chance to fail.

Labels absorb youth breaking into the game because they see dollar signs and not the person who is just excited to be working within their respective field, and when they reach a point of complacency and stagnation from burnout, they are no longer useful to the label or company in question, who then run off with the rights to said artist work without reconciliation.

It's asinine, poor, and predatory business practices that cause this.

We are a new generation, and it's time to say we're done and can operate on our own terms and means.

LEADERS

The founders and members of the collective will have the same access to a broad range of information concerning finances, equipment, and market research. That said, accountants would run the flow of money, so any disagreements about where the money is going can be resolved by a call from any one of us.

Once a chunk of change is generated, part of those finances can and will be used for budgeting projects, upgrading set-ups, and community outreach (think touring and after school programs), all that needs to be done is logistics so we all know what we're putting our money towards. If the project in question seems shotty, we will all do our best to not shoot it down, but flesh it out so it can be more effective, and if it can't be done, we will be honest and forthcoming with each other.

So while there we be founders for the sake of turning this into an LLC, there will be no leaders. We will all be equipped to lead how we see fit without deterioration of the collective's overall vision and without erosion of independent vision.
